We upgraded from the last $10 "Great Cuts" haircut because her hair warrants some real care. It's amazing how much of it she has and while it's pretty and all, it makes the bath a lot more work than I feel it should be at age 3. Nonetheless, it's gorgeous.
Anaya has always been really good at her fine motor skills so we've finally started to address the gross motor skills that we have sadly been neglecting. Up next will be ball and racquet.
So almost a full year later, I have re-emerged into society. Ty is sleeping way better than Anaya ever did, and even does now so I'm not so desperate for sleep anymore. Hence, the blog update. He growing every day and couldn't get cute if he tried. His cheeks are definitely Anaya-style.
We are going on about 2 months straight of reading the lion book before bed, but it pays off when she starts narrating it herself on the kitchen floor and uses words like "gasped" and "circulation desk".
I think we are entering the imagination and storytelling phase, which is pretty awesome. She mixes and matches events and objects into little vignettes now - the animation is hilarous.
Shiv and John are proud new parents first and foremost. Shiv is ramping up her jewelry design business while John is a freshly minted assistant professor at the College of Charleston.
